Classify, share and update: how important is taxonomy for biodiversity?
A prerequisite for scientists studying plants and animal biodiversity is having a common background of terms, nouns and definitions which allow them to classify living species on a unequivocal basis. Taxonomic information is essential for reliable environmental science and biodiversity, but taxonomy is also often very subjective.

Climate data, soil type, land cover, water sources are all elements taken into consideration in the analysis of ecological niches, which are the multidimensional spaces used by scientists to create potential distribution maps analysis.
